Complex care, led by a Registered Nurse
Daily personal care for people with complex health needs, delivered by workers who are specifically trained and signed off for that care. Our Clinical Lead, Dhan, is a Registered Nurse (AU & NZ). He reviews every complex referral, and no worker starts a complex shift until he has signed them off.

Complex care at a glance
What support can include
- Complex personal care and manual handling with equipment
- Care that follows a plan written with the person’s health professionals
- Support delivered under the oversight of our Clinical Lead
- Careful, deliberate worker matching before the first shift
- Detailed handover so nothing depends on one person’s memory
Tell us the specific supports needed and we will confirm plainly whether we have workers trained for them right now. If we do not, we will tell you that rather than sending an unprepared worker.
Competency should be demonstrated, not assumed.
Procedures within our high intensity scope
Our Clinical Lead signs workers off one procedure at a time, for each person they support. A sign-off for one person does not carry over to the next, so every new referral is checked properly.
- Enteral (tube) feeding, including PEG
- Complex bowel care
- Urinary catheter care
- Subcutaneous injections, such as insulin
- Seizure management, including rescue medication
- Oxygen therapy
- Complex wound care
Workers can also be signed off to give medication from Webster packs.
How sign-off works
Theory training, practical training and observed practice first. Then our Clinical Lead signs the worker off for that procedure with that person. Sign-offs are refreshed every year, and redone if the person, the procedure or the equipment changes.
What we do not provide
Ventilator support, tracheostomy care, IV therapy, IV nutrition (TPN) or dialysis support. Where someone needs these, we work alongside the hospital, community nursing or specialist service that provides them.
How a complex referral works
Send the referral or call
Include the clinical, behavioural or environmental needs, and any behaviour support plan. Partial information is fine.
Our Clinical Lead reviews it
Dhan reads the referral and the care needs. Then we tell you what training or sign-off is needed and how long it will take.
We tell you plainly what we can staff
If we have trained workers now, we say so. If we need time to train and sign off, we give you a real date rather than a vague ‘soon’.
Training and sign-off
Workers complete high intensity skills training and are signed off by our Clinical Lead for each procedure, with that person, before they deliver it.
Care plan first, then the shift
Routine, preferences and known risks are read before arrival, and handover is detailed so nothing depends on memory.
Safeguards that come with it
Screened and inducted
NDIS Worker Screening clearance and a face-to-face induction for every worker, before any shift.
Incidents handled the same day
Workers record incidents immediately. A manager reviews them the same day, and reportable incidents are notified to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission within required timeframes.
Restrictive practices
We do not use restrictive practices unless they are authorised in a behaviour support plan written by a registered practitioner, and reported as required.
Reporting to coordinators
Fortnightly written reports, progress notes after every shift, and same-day contact when something changes.
Quality & safety →Have a complex referral?
Call and ask for Dhan, or send the referral. We will tell you honestly whether we can staff it safely — and if not, we will say so on the first call.
